Joy Markey & The Risks Associated with Wrap at the CSC Annual Scientific Meeting

01.04.2019 • Events

Joy, our Clinical Lead, delivered a presentation at the Central Sterilising Club's annual scientific meeting on the Risks Associated with Wrap.

Her presentation, delivered at the Marriott Hotel in Worsley, covered what considerations had to be taken when changing your sterilisation process and the current guidelines covering the decontamination of surgical instruments.

She focused on the consequences of compromised sterility and the impact this would have on patient safety, ensuring that her audience understood the reasoning behind any change to process and the benefit of using an array of wrap combinations.

Open discussion surrounded the reasons why processes were in place and the reasons why a CSSD would decide to use one method or another; is it historical, inherited, or a result of user or equipment issues?

This popular industry event featured other speakers, whose presentaitons were around cleaning validation options, tracking systems, and the value of auditing.
