Big Sleep Out 2020

04.12.2020 • Events

What a night for us all! The Key Surgical UK team took part in the Big Sleep Out 2020 to support our local charity Wycombe Homeless Connection.

The idea is to sleep some where you would not normally sleep but to do it in our own homes during these strange times. We wanted to experience sleeping rough like so many do every night. Our team came up with very creative ideas on where to sleep. Some slept in the garden or the shed where others slept in their cars or bathtubs.

As a team we raised £4,360!

Thank you for all of those who have donated and supported us!

This is a great charity with the mission of transforming the community to help ‘prevent homelessness before it starts, reducing harm for people who are homeless, helping house people who are homeless or defending the rights of people who are homeless or facing homelessness.’ – Wycombe Homeless Connection

They offer so many services to those people who need it for instance an outreach project that connects those living on the street to helps and homes. Providing winter shelter giving people a safe, warm place to stay during the coldest months of the year and plug-ins which is a twice weekly drop in session for people to have support, meals, access to showers and laundry facilities. These is only a small amount that this charity offers.

The pressure and challenges are already mounting on the charity due to the pandemic but will be even harder with the cold weather during the winter period! All the support has helped so many people but sadly there are still people who need help within the community.

Even though we couldn’t do this together we still supported each other throughout the night. Well done team!
